FUZZY NAVEL - A mystery by J. A. Konrath

No, this is not a post about the drink, though they are good.

Nope, I read a book this weekend titled Fuzzy Navel written by J. A. Konrath and I had to tell you about it.

Fuzz Navel is a Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels Mystery by J. A. Konrath.

Alex Kork is back and she is pissed off.

This is quite evident when Alex takes Jack's mother hostage -in here own home- in the first chapter. In fact, it all happens so fast that Jack's mom is spooked by the time you get to page two and has her face slapt and in is in complete terror by the third page. After that, Alex's knows the rest will be easy. Her plan is the classic one where Alex will threaten Jack's family and friends to get at her.

Jack is at a crime scene where a sniper had taken a guy out and then open fires on all the cops at the scene. The sniper then sets his sights on Jack and as she slips away from the crime scene, after much gun fire, the sniper follows her to her home. He then meets up with two more snipers.

Jack sees that Alex is there holding her mother and her Fiance hostage. While she attempts to deal with this, the snipers show up and open fires on the house.

Jack has to now deal with the snipers plus the rage that develops in Alex now that her simple plan is interrupted. It was so simple to her. All she was going to do was hold a few people hostage to get to jack, kill the friends and family while Jack watches, and then to kill Jack. Now, all that is all messed up because of the idiot snipers. This pisses Alex off even more which spills over onto Jack.

Now jack has to find a way to protect her mom, fiance, friend and herself while dealing with the psycho Alex and the snipers outside that are toying with all of them.

It is a fast-paced story, so you may have a hard time putting it down.
